Send Test Emails
The progress and eventually the result of the test delivery is shown on this screen.
While the delivery is still in progress, a "processing" status message is displayed. Once the delivery has completed, a "success" message, including the number of messages actually sent, or a failure message, including an error description, is displayed.
The completion of the test delivery in this context means that all delivery test messages have been sent. However, it may take a few more moments for the messages to actually reach their destinations. In this context, a "successful" delivery means only that the email has been sent successfully, and that there were no network, application, or email job related errors. Errors, such as bounced messages, can still occur during the actual delivery of the mail. Also, "successful" delivery of test messages does not take into account how the message appears to the test recipients, only that it has been sent without error.
Depending on the current state, one, two, or all three of the following options are available to choose from:
- No - The delivery test results are not acceptable.
Available after the test delivery has completed, either successfully or with a failure.
Choose this option if the test delivery resulted in a failure.
Choose this option if, upon review, the test message that was sent to your test recipients contained problems or errors in its appearance. This can, for example, include formatting errors, typos, or incorrect/incomplete text merging because of missing text merge values.
When this option is selected, the Delivery Test step of your email job preparation workflow will remain in the "incomplete" state. Final send authorization for the job will not be possible. This gives you the opportunity to fix all detected defects.
- Yes - The delivery test results are acceptable.
Available after the test delivery has completed successfully.
Choose this option if, upon review, the test message that was sent to your test recipients was acceptable and contained no detectable errors.
When this option is selected, the Delivery Test step of your email job preparation workflow will go into the "completed" state. Final send authorization of the job will be possible. You can now authorize your job for sending.
- Verify Later - View and verify the result of the delivery test at a later time.
Always available.
Choose this option if there is no final decision about the results of the delivery test messages.
Choose this option if you do not want to wait for the completion of the test delivery to complete other steps in the job, or you want to work on another job while the test delivery is being processed. Delivery testing can take time, and by selecting this option, you can return to this screen later.
When this option is selected, the Delivery Test screen will be augmented with a link that takes you to this screen without re-sending test messages. Also, the Delivery Test step of your email job preparation workflow will remain in the "incomplete" state, and the final send authorization of the job will not be possible. This gives you the opportunity to come back to this screen and make a final decision.
