Target Group Definition - Select Recipients from a Database or LDAP Directory
This Target Group Definition wizard lets you define a target group of the "Select Recipients from a Database or LDAP Directory" type that can then be used in the Define Recipients wizard.
The wizard for a target group of the "Select Recipients from a Database or LDAP Directory" type has multiple pages:
General, Source, Parameters,
Input Layout, Input Preview,
Recipients Details, Duplicate Elimination,
and Summary.
The top row of the wizard displays links to each of these pages. The page that is currently open is marked with a highlighted background color. Depending on the choices made on some of the wizard pages, other pages may become disabled or may be shown in different versions. If a wizard page is disabled, then it means that this page is not necessary with the current choices and can safely be ignored.
Input Preview Page: Test the Parameter Settings and Input Controls
This screen allows you to verify that the labels, descriptions, parameter types and values, as well as the parameter ordering and any optional headings which you may have added, appear as expected. You can also check that the input validation for integer or floating point numbers is enabled for the input fields where this is required.
If you have a single or multiple selection list defined where you specified a SQL statement to retrieve the list values from the database, you can use this sample data to verify that the list was populated with the correct values.
With the sample parameter values you supply here, LISTSERV Maestro creates a SQL statement to retrieve sample recipients from the database, which are shown on the following Recipients Details screen. Even though the input on the Recipients Details screen is mandatory, the sample parameter values (and the resulting SQL) you supply here, on the Input Preview screen, are not stored.
