LISTSERV Maestro 11.1-3 Help Table Of Contents

Define Recipients: Determine Recipients Based on Reaction to Another Job

  • To access the recipients wizard for a given standard mail job from the open job details pane, select the Summary tab and click on the Edit link in the Recipients section. If you are already on the workflow page of the mail job, simply click on the Define Recipients section.
  • To access the recipients wizard for a given A/B-split job, click the Edit link in the Recipients section of the A/B-split job details page.
Note: If the recipients do not have the desired type "Determine Recipients Based on Reaction to Another Job", you can change the recipients type on the source page.

The Define Recipients wizard allows the defining of recipients that will receive the email message specified in the job when the job is finally sent.

The wizard has up to five pages: Source, Source Details, Recipients Details, Advanced Settings, and Summary.

The top row of the wizard displays links to these five pages. The page that is currently open is highlighted. Depending on the choices made on some of the wizard pages, other pages may become disabled or may be shown in different versions. If a wizard page is disabled, then it means that this page is not necessary with the current choices and can safely be ignored.

Source Details Page: Desired Recipient Activity

Use this screen to define which of the tracked recipient actions you are interested in basing your follow-up job on. Depending on the tracking definition of the selected source job, some or all of the following options may be available:

  • Further activity irrelevant: With this choice, the mere fact that a user was recipient of the selected source job is enough to also include this user as recipient in this follow-up job.
  • Opened the mail: In order to be included as recipient in this follow-up job, a user must have been included in the source job and must also have opened the message.
  • Ignored the mail: In order to be included as recipient in this follow-up job, a user must have been included in the source job and must not have opened the message. Bear in mind that this choice also includes recipients for whom LISTSERV Maestro did not register and tracking events, which is due to the known limitations of how the tracking technology works.
  • Clicked, shared or performed other actions: This option is an extension of the "Opened the mail" option. You can additionally define which specific activity a candidate user shall have performed in order to receive the message. The screen shows additional options depending on the tracking settings specific to the selected job. The most common usage example for this is a mail job with a certain collection of tracked links. In this case, you can for example send a follow-up message only to those users who have clicked on a certain link selected here in the recipients wizard.
