Target Group Definition - Upload Recipients
This Target Group Definition wizard lets you define a target group of the "Upload Recipients" type that can then be used in the Define Recipients wizard.
The wizard for a target group of the "Upload Recipients" type has multiple pages:
General, Source, Source Details,
Recipients Details, Duplicate Elimination,
and Summary.
The top row of the wizard displays links to each of these pages. The page that is currently open is marked with a highlighted background color. Depending on the choices made on some of the wizard pages, other pages may become disabled or may be shown in different versions. If a wizard page is disabled, then it means that this page is not necessary with the current choices and can safely be ignored.
Source Details Page: How to Parse the File
This screen lets you define details about the recipients file whose origin you defined on the Source screen:
At the bottom of the screen, a preview sample with the data parsed from the uploaded file is displayed.
The Header Row section allows you to specify if a header row is already present in the uploaded data or not. LISTSERV Maestro requires header names for all columns in the file. These headers may already be defined in the file itself. If they are not defined in the file, then you can define them during the next step in this wizard (see the Recipients Details screen).
For Text / CSV files only:
The rows in the CSV file are parsed using the current setting for character encoding, column separator and quote character. (Click here for more details about separator and quote characters.) To specify non-default settings for the separator character, the quote character, or to adjust the selected character encoding for the uploaded file, click on the Specify encoding and separator/quote manually link.
If you are satisfied with your selection of non-default settings, press the [Refresh Preview] button to see an updated preview result. Reconsider your selections if the displayed preview does not show the contents of your file correctly separated into columns and/or if foreign language characters appear incorrectly.
